Every time I or one of my clients does this cleanse, the results are always tangible and others always notice the glow. 🙂

I’m excited to share this with you this spring as a little gift and community builder. I plan to do it myself, so I thought “why not invite you to join me”?!

Are you in?

I hope so!

Not only will you have my support along the way, but also the support of all your fellow cleansers.

Mind-Body cleansing is really such a special time to devote to yourself, and honestly one of the key ingredients to living an energized, inspired life in a healthy body you LOVE … and understand.

What do I mean by that?

Well, part of living an empowered life, free from the inner struggle of body image issues, negative thinking, guilt and shame … and free from the grips of dieting and restriction is to really begin to LEARN & understand your body. To discover what she or he really thrives on, as well as what doesn’t work.

Because this changes depending on the season, the year, your mood, where you live, your stress levels, your hormones, etc. it can be a really good practice to begin to tune into your needs and listen a bit more.

This is exactly what a conscious, holistic cleanse offers … and that’s the only kind of cleansing I teach.

You can sign up to join us for FREE right here!

We will officially kick off in mid-April, and you’ll receive the information to order your holistic cleanse kit by March 26th. This will give you plenty of time to get everything you need to succeed and have fun on this journey.

Have you cleansed before?

Great! We’d love to have you along!

I try to cleanse myself at least 2 times per year, it always helps with seasonal transitions, getting off track and all those other facets of being human.

Never cleansed before?

Great! This will be a fantastic-ly supportive and easy way to get your feet wet!

Raw, Sprouted Amond Butter … Yummmm

SONY DSCOne of my many favorite healthy indulgences is almond butter. But as a health coach, I know that it’s ideal to soak/sprout your almonds before eating them to enhance digestion & absorption; to activate the live enzymes; to alkalize the nut and remove some of the enzyme inhibitors and anti-nutrients.

In the store I can usually find raw almond butter, but raw, sprouted almond butter is a little harder to come by … and usually pretty pricey. The other day, I finally decided to make my own. It’s ridiculously simple (with the right tools), much less expensive than buying even regular raw almond butter, and TOTALLY delicious! Here’s how to whip up your own batch …

You’ll need a food processor and a dehydrator. If you don’t have a dehydrator, you can buy raw sprouted, dehydrated almonds at most Whole Foods now, but that definitely brings the cost up.

You can also try drying your almonds in the oven on the lowest temperature possible. Ideally at 110 degrees or below.

  1. Get your hands on at least 2 cups raw organic almonds
  2. Put your almonds in a bowl and cover with filtered water with a pinch of salt
  3. Let them soak overnight or at least 8 hours
  4. Drain and rinse (discard the water or feed it to your plants)
  5. Dehydrate the almonds for about 8-12 hours (until fully dry)
  6. Put the dried almonds into the food processor with the “S” blade attachment. You can add a pinch of salt or 2 for flavor.
  7. Process for about 10 minutes until smooth and desired texture is reached. The almonds need some time to release the natural oils. You may need to scrape down the sides of the work bowl a few times during this time.
  8. Viola! Raw, sprouted, delicious almond butter!

Your YES!

open-armsThe word Yes has a lot of power to it. It is a full-bodied commitment when said sincerely from the heart and with confidence and truth.

It moves you forward towards what you want (unless you are saying “yes” out of obligation, but that’s another subject entirely).

It opens you up to receiving, where as “no” very clearly closes you/contracts you.

In order to say an empowered, authentic “Yes”, you need to first have the space for that yes and for receiving. If there is no space, that “yes” is empty, filled with obligation, should, guilt, hesitancy, uncertainty, etc.

It is not a powerful “yes” that attracts and aligns and uplifts.

As I was reviewing my 2013, I could see so clearly that it was a year of letting go, which meant a lot of saying “no” to what I knew in my heart did not serve. Sometimes this even happened for me.

I let go of a home that did not feel aligned …

I released my car (in an accident) …

I finally surrendered the last bits of attachments to a past relationship …

I released lots of “things” …

I surrendered to uncertainty during 2 months of homelessness as I stuck to my intuition that the ideal situation was on it’s way …

I let go of my attachments to having projects turn out “my way” …

All of these were NOT easy at all … BUT as I reflected on the past year, I smiled at the immense gifts that all these spaces opened up for me to receive and say a full-bodied, clear, enthusiastic “YES!”

I was able to say “YES!” to an incredible new relationship beyond what I imagined … a new home I adore … a new business venture and partnership … and just a better sense of myself, my path and my power.

Saying "yes!" :)

Saying “yes!” 🙂

As modern-day humans, it seems we can be VERY uncomfortable with empty space … so you may find yourself avoiding creating space, saying “no” when you really want to, and filling up any empty spaces as quickly as you possibly can.

Doing, doing, doing … that can easily become a mantra.

We definitely need the “doing”, but the releasing and the being are just as vital … maybe even more important because it can be hard to say an authentic “Yes” if you’re overwhelmed and swimming in the vortex of “busy, busy, busy, stuff, stuff, stuff.”

I’d love to support you in your beautifully aligned, enthusiastic “YESES” this year, so I’ve compiled a few of my favorite ways to create space below.

Leave a comment below and let me know which of these resonate with you … or even pipe in with some of your faves.

How to create space

  1. Loving, clear “no’s”
  2. Releasing physical, emotional, mental, relationship “baggage”
  3. Yoga (esp. Yin Yoga), meditation, journaling
  4. The breath
  5. Detox/Cleansing
  6. Crying/releasing emotion safely
  7. Physical exercise
  8. Being in nature (esp. open spaces or high up places)
  9. Sleeping & dreaming
  10. Releasing attachments/the need to control
  11. Slowing down
  12. Going on retreat

These are a few of top favorites for making space for those yeses to flow out with authentic power and allow you to receive the bounty of that yes.

If you’d love a little perspective on your “Yes” journey this year, I’m opening up some spaces for a unique new program called “Divinely Aligned that has evolved out of my own personal journey and 15+ years teaching, mentoring, supporting others on their path.

If you are feeling even just a little stuck, overwhelmed, confused, or in transition, I invite you to a complimentary, no-obligation conversation where we can go over what’s happening for you and you can learn more about Divinely Aligned.

Simply send an email to Ana@YogaBodyNutrition.com, and we can schedule a time to speak by phone.

I look forward to connecting soon! xox

Gluten-free Chocolate Chip Cookies that ROCK!

Yummm!

Yummm!

These have been a total hit with everyone I’ve shared with. They don’t taste “gluten-free” or “free” anything else. 🙂 They are good for you, and darn good tasting! Enjoy them with a little Coconut Bliss or just on their own.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups almond flour (I ground my own in the Vita-Mix)
  • 1/4 cup arrowroot flour
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. Himalayan pink salt (or Celtic)
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 3 oz. semi-sweet, stevia sweetened chocolate chips (I used some I found at Whole Foods)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Whisk together the dry ingredients, then add in the wet ingredients.
  3. Fold in the chocolate.
  4. Line a baking sheet with unbleached parchment paper.
  5. Scoop dough into rounds on the sheet, using a tablespoon or scoop.
  6. Wet hands and flatten each cookie to about 2″ wide, leaving about 3 in. between cookies as they spread when baked.
  7. Bake about 12 minutes, or until edges are nicely golden.
  8. Let cool on baking sheet for a few, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Share and enjoy!

Simplify Your Life Today!

simplicityThe holidays can often feel stressful and complicated with coordinating plans, travel, family, food, feeling alone, etc. The highest rate of suicide is at this time of year – yikes! But it truly does NOT have to be that way. There exists in each of us a place of open awareness & simplicity that is happy, spacious, light and at peace. Conversely, when things are complex, we tend to be in a place of unhappiness or suffering. “Complications” may show up as hidden stuck emotions, unhealthy relationships, resistance, unhealthy or imbalanced lifestyle, indecision, overwhelm, negative beliefs, addictions, depression, etc. This complex place tends to feel heavy and weigh us down.

This simple practice is designed to support you in letting go of whatever no longer serves you, while bringing in more simplicity, where you can feel lighter, more creative, inspired, fulfilled, whole, and aligned with possibility! Yay! 🙂

Simplicity Practice

1. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and ask yourself: “Is there anything in my life that is causing me to feel a sense of  discomfort, uneasiness, or pain?”

You can choose a persistent issue that has bothered you for years, or it may be something that has recently come up. It’s okay to focus on a chronic, physical issue, just don’t approach this practice as a cure. Rather the idea is to focus on patterns of perception that keep you held in a place of suffering.

2. For the next week, sit quietly for at least 5 minutes each day with the intention of clearing away complications. Choose one area you feel is most important for you right now, and focus there.

Through this little meditation, pinpoint the smallest possible action you can take, then take it. The next day choose the next smallest action, then take it. It could be that the first day you check to see that your sneakers are in the closet. The next day you might commit to putting on your shoes. The next day, you can choose to walk to your mailbox.

These small, but cumulative steps will keep overwhelm at bay, while bringing you closer to your goals and desires in a way that feels simple.

Some of the Common “Complexities” you Might Work with:

Lack of order – Clutter in your environment (even if you can’t see it)

Stress – Stress is inevitable, but if you are unable to release it at the end of the day, or feel totally overwhelmed by it, then you are overstressed. Make a list of stressors, then brainstorm on how to eliminate or change the impact.

Unhealthy Relationships – Be really honest about those relationships that may be draining or depleting, then come up with a plan. Set better boundaries, speak your truth and needs from the heart, or lovingly release them. A great way to nurture and grow the healthy relationships is to keep an appreciation or gratitude journal for that specific relationship. This feeds what you DO want.

Negativity – Where attention goes, energy flows. What we resist persists … and often grows. Shift your attention. Make it a practice.

Lifestyle – Do your daily routines, diet and lifestyle support you, your health and well-being? It’s as simple as shining the light, and then making the conscious choice to shift. Calling in the support you need to do this can add to lessening the overwhelm and complexity.

Leave a comment below to share what complexity you are letting go of … it might be different than those listed below. We can all support each other in this simple, powerful practice!
